To further deepen the integration of industry and education as well as university-enterprise cooperation and expand internship and employment opportunities for students, on the afternoon of October 16, a delegation led by Du Ke, CEO, and Wen Huigan, General Manager, from Shanghai Dingbo Ship Technology Co., Ltd. (controlled by listed company Lechuang Logistics) visited the College of Marine Science and Engineering, Shanghai Maritime University. The two sides held a university-enterprise exchange symposium in Meeting Room 410 of the college. Dong Chaoqun, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee, Professor Xiong Zhixin, Director of the Naval Architecture Department, and other faculty members attended the discussion.
At the symposium, Du Ke systematically introduced the company’s overview and organizational structure, shared its corporate culture and business philosophy of “Engineering for Sustainability”, and elaborated on its strategic layout and talent demands in ship design, green ship technology and other fields based on its main business segments. He expressed the company’s sincere intention to carry out in-depth cooperation with the college.
On behalf of the college, Dong Chaoqun extended a warm welcome to Du Ke and his delegation, and gave a detailed introduction to the college’s majors, features of talent training and students’ employment situation. Afterwards, combined with the employment scale, destinations of ship major graduates and industrial demands, Xiong Zhixin mainly discussed students’ strengths in engineering practice and job adaptability under the talent training reform of “mutual integration driven by both courses and projects”.
During the discussion session, both sides had in-depth exchanges on practical issues including internships and recruitment for undergraduates, internship safety guarantees, transportation and accommodation arrangements, and intern remuneration. They also fully explored cooperation forms for internships and employment, university-enterprise cooperation mechanisms such as guest lectures delivered by enterprise experts and joint supervision of graduation design, as well as exchanges on scientific research and technology. The symposium proceeded in a harmonious atmosphere with practical and efficient communication, and the two sides reached a preliminary cooperation intention.
This exchange symposium is an important measure for the college to advance the talent training reform of “mutual integration driven by both courses and projects” and strengthen collaborative education between university and enterprise. By inviting high-quality enterprises into the college, high-quality industrial resources are integrated into the whole process of talent cultivation. It not only builds a broader platform for students’ internships and job hunting, but also lays a solid foundation for further cooperation in talent training, scientific research and social services. In the next stage, the college will strengthen communication with the enterprise, refine cooperation plans, promote the steady development of university-enterprise cooperation, realize complementary advantages, and jointly cultivate more high-quality talents for naval architecture and ocean engineering.
