On September 27, the Marine Environment Student Party Branch of the College of Marine Science and Engineering held a meeting for newly recommended candidates in the new semester and an exchange session to deepen the co-construction of the Party-League-Society system in Room 408 of the Marine Science Building. The meeting was presided over by Ding Yi, Secretary of the Marine Environment Student Party Branch. Newly recommended students from the Environmental Engineering Class of 2025, together with student backbones of the Party, the Communist Youth League and student societies, attended the meeting.

At the meeting, on behalf of the Party branch, Teacher Ding Yi congratulated the students who had successfully passed the recommendation by their Youth League branches this semester. He learned in detail about their academic performance and work performance in classes, and systematically interpreted the procedures, criteria and requirements for subsequent assessment, training and Party member development. He encouraged all recommended students to draw closer to the Party organization with concrete actions, fully tap their potential through the Party-League-Society platform, improve their organizational and coordination skills, take the initiative to serve teachers and students, offer suggestions for specialty development, and strive to grow into responsible, capable and pragmatic young people in the new era.

The participating students stated that they would uphold the original aspiration and commitment written in their Party membership applications, study diligently and think critically, take a down-to-earth approach, serve fellow students within the collective, and translate their ideals and convictions into motivation to contribute to the cause of the Party and the country.

Meanwhile, Teacher Ding Yi surveyed class and League backbones of all grades majoring in Environmental Engineering about the overall progress of class development, and clarified work plans and requirements to further improve the collaborative education system of the Marine Environment Party-League-Society. He proposed that the construction of Youth League branches should closely follow disciplinary development and leverage the characteristics of the marine environmental engineering major to carry out systematic scientific and innovative practical activities. Such activities will guide students to visit industrial enterprises and broaden their practical knowledge beyond classroom learning. It is necessary to integrate Party and League activities with labor education, scientific research and innovation, and field visits to enterprises, support students in the integrated development of curriculum-based ideological and political education and popular science programs for primary and secondary schools, and realize the in-depth integration of theoretical learning and engineering practice.

The attending student backbones expressed that they would keep in mind their professional mission, fulfill their responsibilities, and inspire fellow students to forge ahead.
