On September 30, the Ecological Civilization Research Society of the College of Marine Science and Engineering held a lesson preparation and trial lecture activity for the lecturer group on Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization. Zhu Wenwu, a full-time teacher and part-time counsellor of the faculty in the Marine Environment Department, was invited to give guidance, and the activity was hosted by Teacher Ding Yi.

After observing the complete trial lectures delivered by the two lesson-preparation groups, Zhu Wenwu pointed out that the students had delved earnestly into the connotation of Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, with a solid theoretical foundation, clear logic and fluent expression. They had gained a sound understanding of the inherent relationship between Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, marine culture and the construction of a Beautiful China. He suggested that the participants further enrich courseware materials by integrating professional knowledge, practical experience and scientific and innovative achievements, strengthen the link between theory and practice, and improve the interpretation of pollution control technologies and environmental policies against the backdrop of the new-era scientific and industrial development. It is necessary to expand the exploration of industrial challenges and responses to practical engineering problems, highlight the profound enlightenment and guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization for Environmental Engineering and marine ecological protection, and embody the teaching objectives from the perspective of serving the national strategy for building a powerful maritime nation. The lecturers are expected to study thoroughly, reflect carefully and pursue excellence, demonstrating the firm resolve of environmental students from the College of Marine Science and Engineering to seek truth and innovation, keep forging ahead, and shoulder the responsibilities of the times and professional missions. The students stated that they would earnestly adopt the teacher’s advice, continue polishing courseware and refining trial lecture contents, integrate insights gained from academic research, scientific innovation, practical work and professional activities into their lectures, and carry forward the spirit of cherishing the alma mater, loving the motherland and pioneering for progress among environmental majors.

Ding Yi remarked that all participants showed good mental outlook and devoted themselves to lesson preparation and discussion. They incorporated popular science elements of artificial intelligence and big data into their presentations, reflecting the enterprising spirit of keeping pace with the times. Going forward, the student society and the lecturer group will further strengthen coordination, invite more full-time teachers to join seminars, and foster a development pattern featuring mutual promotion between teaching and learning, as well as between scientific research and teaching. This initiative will help students consolidate their capabilities and sense of responsibility, deepen their professional identity, and promote coordinated progress in major development, disciplinary construction and talent cultivation.
