On the afternoon of September 20, Wang Weiyi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Marine Science and Engineering, Dong Chaoqun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Zhang Enbo, counselor for the 2026-cohort freshmen, visited the military training ground. They warmly visited the 2026-cohort freshmen and training instructors, extended sincere gratitude to the instructors on duty, and sent warm regards to all freshmen undergoing rigorous training.
Walking among the training formations, the leaders inspected the progress of drill training and inquired about the students’ physical adaptation and living support arrangements. They praised the trainees for their vigorous spirits and high morale. Secretary Wang Weiyi encouraged all freshmen to cherish this military training experience, temper their willpower, foster teamwork, and translate what they learn from the training into motivation for academic study. He hoped that they would uphold the vision of building a powerful maritime nation, devote themselves to specialized studies and achieve personal growth.
Deputy Secretary Dong Chaoqun kindly reminded the students to balance training and rest, and reach out to counselors and the college in a timely manner when encountering difficulties.
Subsequently, the college leaders distributed consolation gifts to the freshmen one by one, so that the trainees could feel the warmth of the College of Marine Science and Engineering amid intensive training. The freshmen stated that they would train hard, live up to expectations, and start their university journey with outstanding performance. This visit embodies the college’s student-centered education philosophy and injects warm motivation into the military training work. Going forward, the college will keep track of the training progress, provide thorough support, and help all freshmen successfully complete their first lesson in college.
