To further strengthen school-enterprise collaborative innovation and realize the precise matching of disciplinary development and industrial demands, on July 23, 2026, Feng Daolun, Dean of the College of Marine Science and Engineering, Xiong Zhixin, Director of the Ship Engineering Department, and other relevant faculty members visited CSSC Power Station Equipment Co., Ltd.

Shen Minjie, General Manager of the company, extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He gave a comprehensive introduction to the company’s development history, main business lines, core product portfolio and R&D achievements in recent years.

Dean Feng Daolun systematically introduced the college’s development profile from the perspectives of its historical evolution, disciplinary development, research platforms, talent cultivation models and social services. Participants from both sides conducted in-depth discussions on joint application for research projects, transformation of scientific and technological achievements and talent supply, in a warm and dynamic atmosphere.

Both sides agreed that taking this visit as an opportunity, they would establish a regular communication mechanism to jointly contribute to the high-quality development of the ship and ocean engineering industry.

After the meeting, Liu Haiyang, Deputy General Manager of the company, accompanied the college team on an on-site tour of the R&D and production workshop for supporting facilities of LNG vessels. The delegation focused on observing the raw material selection, structural bonding process and finished-product inspection procedures of LNG ship insulation boxes. Detailed explanations were provided on key technical indicators including thermal insulation performance under ultra-low temperature, tightness requirements and fatigue life of the insulation boxes.

As a critical component of the marine low-temperature storage and transportation system, the design optimization and domestic application of insulation boxes have attracted wide attention in the industry. They also offer practical references for the college’s research and teaching in ship structural mechanics, material durability and related fields.

This visit deepened mutual understanding between the college and this key enterprise in the industry, and gathered useful information for exploring specific cooperation directions in the future. Going forward, the college will continue to leverage its disciplinary strengths, proactively respond to industrial needs, and promote positive interaction between teaching, research and industrial development.
