On September 13, the College of Marine Science and Engineering successfully held the thematic evening roll call for the 2026-cohort undergraduate freshmen in the Bangjian Lecture Hall. With the theme “Set Sail and Chase Dreams in the Blue Ocean”, the event was delivered by counselor Zhang Enbo. He had an in-depth exchange with all freshmen covering key topics such as adaptation to university life, study of university rules and disciplines, guidance on academic planning, and cultivation of physical and mental growth, helping freshmen get through the adaptation period smoothly and embark on their brand-new university journey.

During the roll call, the counselor elaborated on key university regulations including electricity safety in dormitories, cybersecurity protection and codes of conduct. With typical cases as warnings, he guided freshmen to abide by disciplinary requirements and establish a sense of rules. In addition, he gave special lectures on communication etiquette, encouraging students to respect teachers, behave politely, master proper ways to communicate with faculty, and become well-mannered young people.

At the end, Mr. Zhang expressed sincere expectations for all 2026-cohort freshmen. He hoped that they would cherish their youth, stay down-to-earth, improve and surpass themselves during college, and write their own brilliant youth stories.
