To steadily promote the standardized construction of the model Party branch, continuously strengthen ideological education on Party members' ideals and beliefs, and normalize long-term theoretical learning, the Postgraduate Party Branch of Marine Materials organized all its faculty and student Party members to watch Session 2 and Session 3 of the 2026 Demonstration Micro Party Lectures for University Party Organizations. The activity integrated learning about the original aspiration and mission with scientific thinking to consolidate the theoretical foundation of Party members.
At 16:00 on June 27, all Party members watched Session 2 Strengthen the Conviction of Benefiting the People and Advance the Construction of a Powerful Country in Education. Centering on the spirit of Zhang Side, Lei Feng, Jiao Yulu and the "Three Oxen" spirit, the lecture systematically illustrated the fundamental aspiration of Communists to take root among the people and serve the masses. Combining marine materials research, laboratory services and student-faculty assistance, Party members held discussions and deeply understood the value of "scientific research for the people", taking benefiting the people as the fundamental starting point of scientific research.
At 16:00 on July 6, the branch organized all Party members to watch Session 3 Understanding the Scientific Decision-Making of Chinese Communists from Four Spirits, delivered by faculty and student Party members from Guizhou University. Focusing on the spirit of the Zunyi Conference, the Xibaipo spirit, the spirit of reform and opening up and the Silk Road spirit, the lecture thoroughly interpreted the wisdom of seeking truth from facts, overall planning and forging ahead contained in the century-long Party history. After watching, the branch carried out joint discussions combining the two lectures, integrating the education on the original aspiration of "who we work for" and the methodology of "how we work".
Based on the characteristics of marine materials, Party members shared insights. They stated that they should inherit the spirit of serving the people, develop new marine materials to meet practical industrial and livelihood demands. Meanwhile, they need to draw on scientific thinking from the four spirits, pursue truth and pragmatism in research, align research directions with the strategy of building a powerful country in education and marine development, and tackle scientific research challenges with an open and pioneering mindset.
In the next step, the branch will further improve theoretical learning through demonstration micro Party lectures. It will integrate the aspiration to serve the people and systematic thinking into the "Three Meetings and One Class", scientific research practice and volunteer services, consolidate the educational foundation of the model Party branch, and guide young postgraduate Party members to contribute their firm ideals and professional capabilities to building a powerful country in education and marine development.
