To further deepen education and teaching reform, fully implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and promote the in-depth development of curriculum ideological and political construction, the College of Marine Science and Engineering successfully launched the preliminary round of the 2026 Curriculum Ideology and Politics Teaching Competition in Classroom 3C105 on July 9.
The judging panel consists of professional experts, including Wang Weiyi, Party Secretary of the college, Feng Daolun, Deputy Party Secretary and Dean of the college, Zhao Shan, winner of the Special Prize in the 8th University-level Curriculum Ideology and Politics Teaching Competition, as well as senior professors An Yan and Xiong Zhixin. Adhering to the fine tradition of extensive participation and exemplary leading role, the competition attracted teachers of different professional titles, including professors, associate professors and young backbone teachers.
During the competition, all participating teachers closely combined the characteristics of their disciplines, fully explored the ideological and political educational resources contained in professional courses, and adopted diverse teaching methods such as case analysis, situational teaching and interactive discussion. They realized the organic integration of professional knowledge teaching and value guidance, and effectively integrated lofty ideals, craftsman spirit, marine power mission and scientific innovation spirit into classroom teaching.
After each teacher’s demonstration, the expert judges delivered detailed comments and targeted guidance. They conducted in-depth discussions on the entry timing, integration depth and presentation form of ideological and political elements, and put forward practical improvement suggestions, helping teachers optimize teaching design and clarify teaching ideas. The competition created a positive atmosphere for teaching communication and mutual progress among faculty members.
Through comprehensive evaluation by the judging panel, three teachers stood out with excellent teaching design and on-site performance, including Ma Tingting from Port, Waterway and Coastal Engineering, Wu Gongxing from Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, and Sun Kai from Materials Science and Engineering. They were recommended to represent the college in the university-level semi-final competition.
Taking this competition as an opportunity, the college will adhere to the concept of promoting teaching, reform and education through competitions. It will continuously optimize the curriculum ideological and political teaching system, encourage teachers to integrate ideological and political education into the whole process of talent training, and steadily improve the effectiveness of curriculum education, so as to boost the high-quality development of college talent training.
