Recently, the 10th National Water Conservancy Young Teachers’ Teaching Competition, jointly hosted by the China Water Conservancy Education Association and the Teaching Advisory Board for Water Conservancy Majors of Institutions of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education, successfully concluded. As an authoritative and influential teaching event in national water conservancy education, the competition gathered outstanding young teachers from more than 100 universities nationwide. The comprehensive evaluation covered teaching design, classroom presentation, teaching innovation, ideological and political education integration, and professional literacy, fully demonstrating the excellent teaching ability and educational demeanor of young teachers in the new era.
The port and waterway group competition was held at Ocean University of China from July 17 to 19. Zhao Shan, teacher from the Department of Port, Waterway and Coastal Engineering of CMSE, represented Shanghai Maritime University in the competition. After two rounds of rigorous evaluation including teaching explanation, classroom teaching demonstration and innovative teaching achievement presentation, Zhao Shan stood out among numerous contestants. With solid teaching skills, standardized teaching design, vivid classroom performance, distinctive engineering teaching characteristics and outstanding innovative teaching concepts, she finally won the First Prize.
The outstanding achievement results from Zhao Shan’s dedication to teaching and rigorous preparation for the competition. It also reflects the college’s long-term emphasis on undergraduate teaching quality and the cultivation of young teachers. Adhering to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, the college continuously optimizes teaching team construction, supports young teachers in curriculum reform, teaching innovation and teaching competitions, and builds a sound platform for young teachers to improve teaching capabilities and display their professional style.
