To deepen industry-university-research integration and realize the precise connection between scientific and technological innovation and industrial demands, Feng Daolun, Dean of the College of Marine Science and Engineering, and Lü Baoyi, Director of the Marine Environment Department, led a team to visit No.704 Research Institute of China State Shipbuilding Corporation on July 21, 2026. The team was warmly received by the Chief Accountant and key responsible persons of the institute. Both sides held in-depth discussions on current scientific research progress and future development plans.
Before the forum, the person in charge of the institute’s office introduced the overall development of No.704 Research Institute in detail. As one of the largest and most influential research institutes specializing in special ship equipment and auxiliary electromechanical equipment in China, the institute is mainly engaged in the R&D, design, production, assembly and integrated services of ship-related systems and equipment. With more than 60 years of development, it has formed seven major business sectors, including power and electric power, aviation support, ship equipment, thermal energy and environmental protection, vibration reduction and degaussing, non-ship equipment, as well as testing, verification and standard research, boasting profound technical accumulation and extensive industrial influence.
On behalf of the college, Dean Feng Daolun expressed gratitude for the warm reception. He systematically introduced the college’s development history, professional teaching team and scientific research achievements. He pointed out that No.704 Research Institute has profound accumulation and unique resource advantages in the field of ship equipment R&D. Taking this exchange as an opportunity, both sides will establish a regular communication mechanism and carry out in-depth cooperation in scientific research construction and project application by giving full play to their respective strengths.
The person in charge of the Thermal Energy and Environmental Protection Department of the institute shared special reports on core equipment and systematic solutions for ship thermal energy and environmental protection, and elaborated on the development ideas and application prospects of relevant equipment in the future. Subsequently, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on key technical bottlenecks, experimental design and R&D ideas in scientific research projects.
This visit and research has deepened the college’s understanding of the latest industrial technological development, provided important reference for optimizing scientific research layout and expanding cooperation channels, and laid a solid foundation for substantive cooperation between the two sides in the future.
