On the afternoon of June 17, the College of Marine Science and Engineering held the “Monthly Lecture” and centralized political theory learning session. Ma Yulin, a 2006 undergraduate alumnus majoring in Marine Engineering and the person in charge of the youth team for large cruise ship construction management at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., was invited as the keynote speaker. Wang Yiwei, Party Secretary of the college, presided over the session.

Starting with a brief introduction to the overall development of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., Ma Yulin systematically shared his insights from three perspectives: the construction of the large cruise ship management team, the construction process of China’s first domestically built large cruise ship, and the development of the domestic cruise ship industry.

In the youth experience sharing segment, Ma Yulin exchanged ideas with teachers and students regarding ideals and beliefs, teamwork, and pragmatic responsibility. He encouraged all Party members of the college to perceive the great changes of the new era from the landmark breakthroughs of China’s shipbuilding industry, continuously strengthen their sense of mission and responsibility, actively contribute to the development of the domestic cruise industry, and devote themselves to building China into a maritime power, a shipping power, and advancing the construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center.

Before the lecture, the college presented Ma Yulin with an appointment letter as an “Industry-Education Integration Enterprise Mentor” to recognize his support for talent cultivation of the college.
