To thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization and follow the arrangements for the Ecological China Lecture Hall jointly issued by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the college set up a sub‑venue in Meeting Room 109 of the Marine Science Building on the morning of June 16, organizing teachers and students to watch the first lecture of the Ecological China Lecture Hall. A total of 60 participants attended the on‑site session, including members of the college leadership, Party committee members, heads of each department, secretaries of teacher‑student Party branches, all faculty members of the Environmental Engineering Department, members of the Ecological Civilization Society, and teacher‑student representatives from various departments. Other teachers and students took synchronous online learning via designated platforms with real‑name login, achieving full coverage across the college.
The lecture offered a systematic interpretation of the overall plan for building a Beautiful China, elaborated on the core idea that “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets”, and illustrated the goals and tasks for advancing ecological civilization in the new era with practical ecological‑governance cases. Integrating national macro‑level policies with grassroots governance experience through accessible analysis, the speaker delivered an ideological‑political lecture on ecology with both theoretical depth and practical relevance for teachers and students.
Participants listened attentively and took detailed notes, gaining a deeper understanding of the significance of ecological civilization construction for national development and youth growth. Many stated that they would take this lecture as an opportunity, draw on their professional expertise, embed ecological concepts into academic study and scientific research, and actively practice a green and low‑carbon lifestyle.
This collective learning activity serves as an important measure for the college to advance comprehensive reforms for fostering virtue through education and strengthen ideological‑political education on ecological civilization. Moving forward, the College of Marine Science and Engineering will continue to leverage the lecture‑hall series. Combined with its disciplinary strengths, it will organically integrate Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization into various professional courses and carry out regular publicity and educational activities on ecological civilization. It will guide young students to shoulder the mission of ecological protection and contribute professional expertise to the modernization drive featuring the harmonious coexistence of humanity and nature.
