To give full play to the bridging role of the Party branch, build a communication platform between teachers and students majoring in port and waterway engineering, and help students strengthen professional cognition and draw strength from role models, the Port and Waterway Student Party Branch recently invited Teacher Zhao Shan and three outstanding graduate students to conduct face-to-face sharing and communication with students centered on the theme of “perseverance”. Peng Yujie, Secretary of the Port and Waterway Student Party Branch, presided over the activity.
Combining her personal growth experience in academic pursuit and years of teaching and scientific research experience, Teacher Zhao Shan shared her journey of persistence and progress, vividly illustrating the significance of perseverance in professional study, scientific research exploration and personal growth. Recounting her confusion, persistence and breakthroughs during her academic journey, she encouraged students to take root in the port and waterway major, abandon impetuosity and utilitarianism, consolidate professional competence through long-term perseverance, and overcome various difficulties in study and scientific research with consistent efforts.
Based on their real experiences in undergraduate study, postgraduate entrance examination and scientific research practice, the three graduate students sincerely shared their most persistent experiences in college life. They told stories of perseverance and transformation, confusion and breakthroughs on their pursuit of dreams, setting vivid examples for junior students with their authentic growth journeys.
This activity is one of the series of “Blueprint Lecture Hall” events held by the Port and Waterway Student Party Branch. The branch will continue to give play to its bridging function, invite outstanding role models around students to share their experiences, and help students enhance professional identity and clarify their direction of progress through face-to-face communication.
