To continuously carry out peer academic assistance and consolidate the mathematical and physical foundation of undergraduate students of the Class of 2025, the College of Marine Science and Engineering launched the second phase of the "Haike Help Desk — Basic Course Tutorial" in Room 408. Led by outstanding student leaders, this tutorial focused on key and difficult knowledge points in College Physics, Advanced Mathematics and Linear Algebra, fostering a positive learning atmosphere of mutual help and common progress. A total of four special tutoring sessions were held from May 25 to May 28.
Wang Taozhe from the Harbor Engineering Student Party Branch gave a lecture on the fundamentals of rigid body mechanics. He sorted out core knowledge points with typical examples to help students solidify their physics foundation. Zhang Guoxuan, study committee member of Grade 2025, focused on difficult contents including directional derivatives, gradients and geometric applications of spatial curved surfaces. He systematically decomposed key knowledge points and shared practical problem-solving skills. Shi Tiancheng from the Harbor Engineering Student Party Branch delivered a Linear Algebra tutoring session, explaining the concepts of matrices and adjoint matrices while summarizing key examination points and calculation methods. Zhang Yuqing from the Materials Student Party Branch elaborated on frequently tested difficult knowledge, such as the extreme values of multivariate functions and the Lagrange multiplier method, and analyzed problem-solving ideas and common error-prone points with typical examples.
Adopting the form of intensive explanation and on-site Q&A, all student speakers were well-prepared and delivered clear and detailed lectures. The activity presented a strong academic atmosphere, where students actively exchanged ideas and raised questions, effectively consolidating difficult and key knowledge points.
The college will continue to carry out such peer tutoring activities to support students’ academic growth and promote collective progress. Written by: Peng Yujie Photographed by: Peng Yujie
