To further promote the themed cultural practice activity “Date with Shanghai” of the College of Marine Science and Engineering, guide young students to step out of campus, take root in Shanghai and engage deeply in Lingang, and personally experience the vigorous vitality and high-quality development momentum of Shanghai’s scientific and technological innovation industry, counselor Gao Rui led the Youth League Branch of Ship Engineering Class 243 to carry out an immersive science and innovation study tour in Lingang New Area. The students visited the Zero-Cube OPC Individual Enterprise Demonstration Community and Sinan Semiconductor Incubation Base, exploring the core strength of Shanghai’s intelligent manufacturing and clarifying the direction of youth innovation and endeavor.
A fertile ground for innovation and entrepreneurship empowers youthful vitality, and a high-quality ecological environment supports dream chasing. At the Zero-Cube OPC Individual Enterprise Demonstration Community, the league members inspected the functional layout and supporting facilities for innovation and entrepreneurship. They gained an in-depth understanding of the park’s innovative operation modes, characteristic industrial formats, as well as supportive policies and incubation systems for young entrepreneurs. Through on-site observation and communication, the students truly felt the open and inclusive entrepreneurial atmosphere, comprehensive entrepreneurial guarantees and dynamic innovation ecology of Lingang New Area. They deeply perceived the city’s warmth and development vision of fully supporting youth innovation and entrepreneurship and facilitating young people’s growth.
Self-reliance and self-improvement in science and technology constitute the core foundation of urban development as well as the mission of young students in the new era. At the Sinan Semiconductor Incubation Base, the study tour extended from the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem to cutting-edge core technologies. The students systematically learned about the base’s spatial planning, full-chain incubation service system and industry-university-research integrated development model, as well as the development trends and layout of the semiconductor industry. As a key carrier of Shanghai’s high-end intelligent manufacturing industry, Lingang boasts prominent industrial agglomeration advantages and broad development prospects in the semiconductor field. It provides a broad platform for students’ employment, entrepreneurship and scientific research innovation, and helps them form a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the upgrading of Shanghai’s scientific and technological innovation industry and the high-quality development of high-end manufacturing.
In the future, relying on the featured educational brand “Date with Shanghai”, the college will continue to tap local resources in Shanghai and carry out regular activities including scientific and innovation practice, cultural experience and industry study tours.
