To strengthen academic atmosphere construction, standardize examination discipline, and guide students to scientifically plan their academic studies and career development, the Grade 2024 undergraduate students of the College of Marine Science and Engineering launched a themed evening roll call titled “Abide by Exam Discipline, Embrace Boundless Future” on the evening of May 31. The activity was hosted by counselor Zhu Diyao, with Liu Chunhui and Zhu Tianyu from the Class of 2022 invited to share their valuable experience.
During the “Senior Sharing Session”, Liu Chunhui, who has won numerous competition awards and successfully pursued postgraduate recommendation at Wuhan University of Technology, delivered a speech on scientific and technological innovation competitions and postgraduate recommendation. He systematically illustrated the whole process including competition selection, team building, competition preparation strategies and defense skills, as well as document preparation, supervisor communication, summer camp participation and pre-recommendation procedures for postgraduate admission. He encouraged students to identify their own development paths, persist in accumulation, and promote academic progress through competitions.
Combining his internship and employment experience, Zhu Tianyu shared practical suggestions on college students’ career planning, resume writing and interview skills. He reminded students to understand relevant industries and accumulate workplace experience as early as possible, and make rational choices regarding postgraduate entrance examination, employment and civil service examination. In addition, he emphasized that resumes should highlight personal strengths in an honest and appropriate manner, and students should stay confident and fully prepared for interviews.
At the end of the activity, the counselor conducted education on examination style and discipline, elaborating on examination rules, identification standards of cheating behaviors and corresponding disciplinary consequences. She stressed the importance of integrity in examinations and refusal to cheating, guiding students to strictly abide by disciplinary bottom lines and review earnestly for upcoming exams. Meanwhile, the counselor arranged the work of the summer social practice program “Visiting Hundred Ports & Thousands of Enterprises”, clarifying key arrangements for project application, team recruitment and project implementation.
Featuring rich and practical content, this evening roll call provided students with practical experience in scientific research innovation, postgraduate recommendation and employment, and strengthened their awareness of integrity in examinations. Giving full play to the exemplary leading role of outstanding students, the activity effectively guided Grade 2024 students to clarify their development paths, correct their learning attitudes and consolidate their sense of discipline.
