To strengthen the linkage between faculty and student Party branches, deepen students’ professional understanding and draw inspiration from role models, the Student Party Branch of Port, Waterway and Coastal Engineering hosted the Blue Future Lecture on the afternoon of May 28, 2026. Zhang Wenbing, a faculty Party member from the Department of Port and Waterway Engineering, was invited to hold an in-person discussion with students. Peng Yujie, Secretary of the Student Party Branch, presided over the event.

At the opening of the activity, students presented handwritten impression postcards to Teacher Zhang. Afterwards, Teacher Zhang shared his personal experiences including academic setbacks in college, interesting stories with classmates and inner journeys during his studies in sincere and plain language. During the open Q&A session, students had in-depth exchanges with him concerning academic studies, scientific research and career planning.

As one installment of the branch’s ongoing Blue Future Lecture series, the event helps the branch serve as an effective bridge. Going forward, the branch will keep inviting outstanding role models to campus and help students strengthen their sense of professional identity and clarify goals for progress via face-to-face communication.
