Following the mid-term examinations, to further consolidate the achievements of academic assistance, help students systematically sort out knowledge systems and improve review efficiency, the college continued to launch the “Helpful Study Buddy — Basic Courses Mini Class for Grade 2025” at Conference Room 408. This week, synchronous tutoring was carried out focusing on the core chapters of Advanced Mathematics, Linear Algebra and University Physics.
A total of four special study sessions were organized from May 18 to 21. Ye Hao, an activist for Party admission from the Ship Engineering Student Party Branch, gave lectures on particle kinematics and particle dynamics in University Physics with in-depth analysis of typical examples. Zhang Yuqing, an activist for Party admission from the Materials Student Party Branch, delivered tutoring on vector algebra and spatial analytic geometry in Advanced Mathematics, helping students clarify vector operations and spatial surface equations. Shi Tiancheng, a Party development candidate from the Harbour and Waterway Engineering Student Party Branch, conducted a special session on determinants in Linear Algebra, systematically sorting out determinant properties and common calculation methods. Huang Shuying, a member of the Ship Engineering Student Party Branch, explained the differentiation of multivariate functions and its applications in Advanced Mathematics, elaborating on partial derivatives, total differentials and extreme value problems in a simple and straightforward manner.
Combining their personal learning experience, all instructors guided students in learning and practicing simultaneously and provided on-site Q&A support. With the overall arrangement of the college and active participation of students, this mini class offered more than 10 hours of centralized learning and Q&A services. Building on the Advanced Mathematics mini classes held last semester, the college has gradually formed a sound academic support ecosystem featuring fixed venues, rolling courses, student backbone leadership and accessible on-demand tutoring.
The mini classes focus not only on knowledge explanation, but also on the transmission of effective learning methods and the cultivation of a mutual-aid learning atmosphere. The college will continue to encourage students to deepen their academic understanding through communication and achieve common progress through collaboration.
