Marine Environment Student Party Branch Organizes Members to Carry Out Marine Science Popularization Campaign at Jianping Lingang Primary School (Moli Road Campus)
On May 22nd, members from the Marine Environment Student Party Branch visited Jianping Lingang Primary School (Moli Road Campus) to launch an ocean environmental science popularization program on campus. Adopting vivid popular science lectures and interesting interactive teaching, the activity aims to broaden pupils’ extracurricular knowledge horizons, foster their awareness and capability in scientific and technological innovation, and implement the integrated development of ideological and political education across preschool, primary, secondary and higher education.
Prior to the event, Ding Yi, Secretary of the Party Branch, led all members in thorough lesson preparation. Centered on the theme Bioelectrochemical Constructed Wetland: A Green Barrier for Marine Ecological Pollution Remediation, Party members kicked off the lecture by elaborating on the significance of marine environmental protection, coastal water quality status and its developmental trends. They introduced the composition and mysteries of the ocean, and illustrated how constructed wetland-based aquatic ecological restoration technology can improve inshore water environment to realize clean shorelines and blue seawater with their professional expertise.
Primary students raised active questions regarding wetland components including electron donors, ecological fillers, green vegetation and pollutant-degrading microbial communities. With plainspoken and lively metaphors, branch members helped youngsters grasp relevant environmental chemical principles. Throughout the class, pupils listened attentively, pondered thoughtfully and volunteered questions, demonstrating strong enthusiasm for science and innovation.
In recent years, guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, the Marine Environment Student Party Branch integrates theoretical learning with practical activities. It encourages its members to translate academic knowledge into popular science outreach, sci-tech innovation and volunteer services. By practicing the correct view of performance through dedicated public service, the branch contributes to cultivating innovative marine science talents for the new era.
