To fully implement the holistic view of national security and inspire students of the College of Marine Science and Engineering to foster a strong awareness that safeguarding state secrets is every citizen’s obligation, all postgraduate League branches of the 2025 intake organized a confidentiality awareness and education campaign on May 12. Through watching special documentaries, studying authoritative guidelines and exchanging learning insights, the core values of confidentiality were deeply rooted in students’ minds.
During the event, students collectively viewed the CCTV documentary Watchmen: Red Stories of Confidentiality Protection, recalling the extraordinary revolutionary era when predecessors protected confidential information at the cost of their lives and honored their missions with unwavering loyalty, which helped them fully appreciate the revolutionary legacy and contemporary significance of confidentiality management. Afterwards, all participants watched Within Every Inch, the official public service clip for the 2026 National Confidentiality Education Month. The video illustrated hidden information leakage risks amid daily routines including QR code scanning, AI application and WeChat Moments posts, reminding attendees to stay vigilant on confidentiality and stick firmly to security red lines.
In the knowledge training session, students visited the Publicity & Education section on the official website of the State Secrets Administration of China to learn systematically about the rights and obligations of personnel with access to classified information, confidentiality protocols for resigned employees, WeChat usage rules and the fine revolutionary traditions of confidentiality work. Combined with analysis of real leakage cases and their adverse consequences, students clarified behavioral restrictions and strengthened their legal awareness.
At the discussion session, students exchanged ideas on how young generations can fulfill confidentiality duties. They pledged to start with self-discipline by regulating online conducts and abiding strictly by information security rules to fend off leakage risks, striving to be promoters of confidentiality knowledge and defenders of national security.
Featuring innovative formats and substantial content, this themed League Day has effectively boosted students’ confidentiality awareness and risk prevention capabilities, cultivating a campus atmosphere adhering to the principle that no confidentiality matter is trivial and confidentiality is everybody’s responsibility. Going forward, the college will carry out regular confidentiality outreach, integrate confidentiality education into daily campus management, and guide young students to build a robust bulwark for national security with practical actions.
