College of Marine Science and Engineering Holds the 4th "Face-to-Face with Teachers" On-site Q&A Activity at the One-Stop Student Community

To help students clarify major development directions and resolve puzzles over academics and career development, the fourth session of the "Face-to-Face with Teachers" on-duty tutoring was held in the activity room of Building 60 in the afternoon of April 27. Teacher Xin Ling from the Department of Port, Waterway and Coastal Engineering was invited as the keynote speaker.

Combining her teaching and research experience, Teacher Xin gave systematic and in-depth answers covering the development roadmap of Port, Waterway and Coastal Engineering, current industrial landscape and common doubts raised by students. When talking about academic study, she highlighted the significance of core courses such as Port Engineering, which serve as the cornerstone of disciplinary knowledge and the foundation for future technical competency improvement, encouraging students to concentrate on coursework and consolidate basic expertise.

In terms of career planning, concerning civil service and institutional recruitment favored by many students, she put forward targeted suggestions from perspectives including industry understanding, post matching and long-term career growth to guide students to make rational and scientific plans.

At the closing of the event, she reiterated that solid professional competence constitutes core competitiveness and urged students to cherish college years, consolidate disciplinary foundations and accumulate strength for future development.

The activity effectively solved students’ practical problems in study and career planning, boosted their professional identity and learning motivation. By arranging faculty to communicate with students face to face in student community, the college smooths teacher-student communication channels and provides solid support for talent cultivation and academic atmosphere construction.
