Guiding Blue Dreams and Consolidating Ideological Foundations — College Leadership Delivers Professional Identity Education at the One-Stop Student Community

To fully implement the development strategy of building a powerful maritime nation and fulfill the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, the College of Marine Science and Engineering recently held a lunch exchange session at its One-Stop Student Community. Members of the college leadership, backbone faculty representatives of all majors and counselors attended the event, sharing meals together with freshmen. The activity brought management and teaching resources closer to students and effectively narrowed the psychological gap between teachers and undergraduates.

Over lunch, college leaders cordially asked freshmen about their adaptation to campus accommodation and dining as well as daily study arrangements, and patiently collected their suggestions on college development. In response to common concerns including discipline development, difficult courses and future career planning, faculty members offered easy-to-understand answers based on their research experience and cutting-edge industrial trends.

Combining the latest progress of marine disciplines, teachers encouraged freshmen to consolidate foundational expertise, build strong professional identity, map out personal development plans according to academic growth, align their studies with national maritime development demands and explore suitable career paths.Going forward, relying on the One-Stop Student Community platform, the college will launch more diversified activities to support students’ all-round development and cultivate high-caliber professionals for China’s marine industry.
