Clarify Directions Based on Majors, Launch Plans to Drive Action — Study & Life Planning Evening Roll Call for Grade 2025, College of Marine Science and Engineering.

To help Grade 2025 freshmen adapt to university life promptly, design scientific study and development plans from a professional perspective and pinpoint future goals, the College of Marine Science and Engineering hosted the themed evening roll call Major Analysis & Planning Kick-off at Bangjian Lecture Hall on April 19. Delivered by Teacher Shi Jianhong, the event attracted all Grade 2025 undergraduates.

The sharing unfolded in three dimensions: self-reflection, path analysis and diligent practice. Teacher Shi first emphasized that university study requires a shift from exam-oriented passive learning to initiative-driven exploration. Only by deepening self-awareness and figuring out the purpose of learning can students forge a steady and promising four-year college journey.

Focusing on post-graduation options in line with Environmental Engineering features, she sorted out two mainstream paths: postgraduate admission and employment. For further study, she advised students to select target universities rationally according to their foundational proficiency in mathematics and English. For career development, she elaborated on matching posts including public services, environmental supervision institutions, consulting and third-party technical services. She reminded students to obtain relevant Environmental Engineer certifications at an early date, master practical tools such as CAD and Python, and build up internship experience.

In the closing part, she put forward phased suggestions for the four undergraduate years: explore diverse possibilities in the first year, concentrate on confirmed fields in the second, deepen expertise and settle on future paths in the third, and integrate capabilities for graduation transition in the fourth. She encouraged all students to take immediate action to identify personal interests and stride toward preset objectives.

Packed with practical information and authentic data, the session offered both directional guidance and actionable advice, supporting students’ academic and career planning and laying a solid foundation for grade-level study style cultivation and career education.
