To further guide students to clarify their academic goals, the Grade 2024 undergraduate evening roll call themed "Reject the NPC Mode, Be the Protagonist of Your Life" was successfully held by the College of Marine Science and Engineering on the evening of March 8, 2026. The activity was presided over by counselor Zhu Diyao.

At the start of the activity, the counselor reviewed the academic performance of the last semester, analyzing failures, grade distribution and the proportion of students with a GPA of 3.0 and above across the four majors in detail. Considering the characteristics of each curriculum, she issued academic warnings for the second semester of the sophomore year. She reminded students to attach importance to challenging core courses, take initiative to make up for weaknesses, consolidate professional foundations and avoid falling behind.

“Your life script is written by yourself, and your future development requires active planning.” To help students clarify their development directions, the counselor analyzed the characteristics, key preparation points and time schedules of four mainstream career paths, including postgraduate entrance examination, postgraduate recommendation, employment, overseas study, and civil service recruitment. She emphasized that the second semester of the sophomore year is a critical period for planning. She urged students to set clear goals at an early stage and take immediate action to accumulate strength for future development, so as to truly become the protagonist of their own lives.

The counselor re-emphasized daily rules regarding classroom discipline and dormitory safety. Combined with recent typical cases, she elaborated on anti-fraud knowledge and reminded students to raise their awareness of prevention. "A protagonist should not only have goals, but also maintain self-discipline and abide by moral boundaries." She encouraged students to regulate their words and deeds with high standards, take an active part in various college activities, make full use of available resources to improve academic performance, and take full responsibility for their own growth.

The well-structured and focused evening roll call reviewed the achievements and shortcomings of academic development in the last semester, while clarifying the learning priorities and career paths for the current semester, providing clear guidance for students’ study and life in the second semester of their sophomore year. It is hoped that all students will take this opportunity to adjust their status promptly, immerse themselves in a positive academic atmosphere, make scientific plans for their studies and daily life, and forge ahead steadily with continuous progress.
