On March 24, Ding Yi, Secretary of the Marine Environment Student Party Branch and part-time faculty counselor of the School of Marine Science and Engineering, launched a joint Party and League study session and major identity promotion activity with class committee members and student leaders of the 2025-level Environmental Major League Branch.Teacher Ding had an in-depth exchange with the freshmen of the 2025 Environmental Major. She expressed the hope that the students would live up to their original aspirations and achieve fruitful progress in their university studies. She pointed out that the participating class committee members and student leaders are outstanding representatives selected in the recent class recommendation process. Serving as vital bridges for future joint Party and League learning as well as role models leading the whole class forward, they are expected to keep their original aspiration and mission firmly in mind.Students were encouraged to take the lead and strive for excellence in theoretical study, professional practice, scientific and innovation competitions, class and league construction, and volunteer services. They should actively draw closer to the Party organization with practical actions, demonstrate the vigorous, positive and diligent spirit of contemporary college students, take on responsibilities bravely, undertake arduous tasks, overcome difficulties, pursue excellence, and write brilliant youthful chapters on the journey of seeking truth and innovation.
In addition, Teacher Ding urged all students to attach great importance to major identity building. As the core driving force for discipline construction and development, solid major recognition can effectively stimulate students’ enthusiasm for learning and scientific innovation, closely integrate personal growth with disciplinary development, and support students’ all-round development as well as the high-quality progress of the major.She hoped that the participating class committee members and student leaders would actively popularize and publicize professional knowledge in daily work, integrate academic exchanges into Party and League routine work, deepen their sense of professional identity and mission, and consolidate professional competence. In this way, they could contribute to the high-quality collaborative education of Party and League co-construction and offer suggestions for disciplinary development.The participating students stated that they would thoroughly implement the spirit of this joint study activity. In future class and League work, they will further strengthen professional identity, integrate the construction of League branches, Party branches and academic disciplines into daily co-construction and collective learning. They are determined to study diligently, set exemplary examples, and strive to become outstanding youth role models.
