On March 22, to further advance the construction of the one-stop student community management model, fulfill the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and provide targeted support for students' growth and development, Ding Yi, a faculty part-time counselor from the School of Marine Science and Engineering, went to the student community and held educational exchanges and themed learning activities for students of the 2023 grade.
During the activity, Ms. Ding Yi gave systematic guidance on the work arrangements for Grade 2023 students in the new semester. She clarified key tasks including study style development, daily management and group activities, and urged students to refocus on their studies and make reasonable academic plans. Afterwards, she had one-on-one talks with students to learn about their needs and puzzles concerning postgraduate entrance exam preparation, employment and internships, career development and academic improvement. She answered questions on the spot and offered targeted suggestions to address students' practical difficulties.
In accordance with the requirements of themed education, Ms. Ding Yi led the students to carry out learning activities on establishing and practicing a correct view of political performance. She guided students to develop correct value orientation, positive outlook on growth and a strong sense of responsibility. She encouraged them to integrate personal development with professional learning and the development of the marine industry, and forge ahead on the path of growth with solid and diligent efforts.
This community-based educational activity integrates ideological guidance, academic tutoring, career services and ideological and political education. It effectively bridges the gap between teachers and students and improves the quality of talent cultivation. The school will continue to encourage faculty part-time counselors to engage in regular in-community education, further improve the all-staff, all-process and all-round education system, and support students’ comprehensive growth and personal development.
