On the afternoon of March 20, the School of Marine Science and Engineering held the 2026 Spring Forum for Ethnic Minority Students at the One-Stop Student Community of Buildings 60–61. Wang Weiyi, Party Secretary of the school, Dong Chaoqun, Deputy Party Secretary, counselor Peng Yujie, and ethnic minority student representatives from all grades attended the forum.
At the forum, ethnic minority student representatives from all grades spoke actively. They shared their experiences and reflections after returning to campus, talking about holiday stories, study and daily life as well as personal development plans. The students exchanged learning insights and voiced their concerns about growth in a warm and harmonious atmosphere.
After listening carefully to the students' remarks, Wang Weiyi, Party Secretary of the school, delivered a concluding speech titled United as Pomegranate Seeds, Striving for Shared Dreams. He put forward three expectations for the students. First, firmly uphold ideals and convictions and integrate personal aspirations into the country's overall development. Second, delve into professional knowledge, sharpen capabilities and lay a solid foundation for growth. Third, actively take part in group life, carry forward ethnic cultures, and combine cultural confidence with innovation of the times.
This forum has built a bridge for communication between teachers and students. It enables the college to better understand the study and life of ethnic minority students, and also inspires all students of different ethnic groups to forge ahead and grow together in the new semester.
