On the afternoon of March 12, the Party Committee of the College of Marine Science and Engineering held a Party building work meeting and a deployment meeting for the study and education on fostering and practicing a correct view on political achievements. Members of the College Party Committee and secretaries of Party branches attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Wang Weiyi, Secretary of the College Party Committee, made a comprehensive mobilization. He pointed out that it is necessary to raise political awareness and deeply understand the great significance of fostering and practicing a correct view on political achievements. Carrying out the study and education on fostering and practicing a correct view on political achievements across the whole Party is a strategic need to fully implement the guiding principles of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, an inherent requirement to practice the Party's fundamental purpose and consolidate its governing foundation, as well as an important way to consolidate and expand the achievements of inner-Party education and advance full and strict governance over the Party. Conducting this study and education is a key task of Party building this year. The whole college must raise political awareness and deeply understand its great significance. All Party members and cadres of the college should take this opportunity to internalize the correct view on political achievements in the mind and externalize it in practice, effectively turning it into a strong driving force for promoting the high-quality development of the college.
Wang Weiyi emphasized that efforts should be focused on the theme and main line, and five key measures should be taken in a coordinated way to fully implement all tasks of the study and education:
First, highlight in-depth study, incorporate dissertations on the view of political achievements into the education and training system for Party members and middle-level cadres of the college, and integrate the study and education with key tasks such as the "One University, One Policy" comprehensive reform;
Second, highlight meticulous examination, conduct in-depth checks on shortcomings in professional development, teaching and research, and deficiencies in work style based on the college's reality, identify gaps through benchmarking and inspection, and conduct in-depth analysis of the root causes;
Third, highlight earnest rectification, focus on the difficulties and pain points in the college's development, and solve problems with courage to confront tough issues;
Fourth, highlight long-term institution-building, timely institutionalize good experiences and practices, consolidate achievements through institutional improvement, and promote the normalization and long-term effectiveness of the study and education;
Fifth, highlight openness to public participation, further advance the project of "One Practical Thing for Each Party Branch", establish an evaluation mechanism involving teachers and students, and test the effectiveness of the study and education by the sense of gain of teachers and students.
At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen the sense of responsibility to ensure solid results of the study and education. Members of the leading group should earnestly fulfill their "dual responsibilities for one post" and strengthen specific guidance on the study and education in the Party branches they contact and the fields they are in charge of; secretaries of Party branches of teachers and students should earnestly perform their duties as primary responsible persons, taking personal charge and overall responsibility; publicity and guidance should be strengthened to focus on discovering and publicizing advanced models and touching deeds, creating a favorable atmosphere of learning from advanced models, fostering healthy tendencies and valuing practical achievements across the college; work style guarantees should be strengthened to resolutely prevent formalism, put an end to "low-grade red-flattery" and "high-grade sabotage", ensure a solid process, practical measures and real effects of the study and education, and guarantee the in-depth and solid progress of the study and education with a fine work style.
At the meeting, the college also briefed on the 2025 annual democratic meeting of Party leading cadres at and above the division level, and made arrangements for the 2025 annual organizational meetings of primary-level Party organizations and the democratic evaluation of Party members.
