To thoroughly implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue and nurturing talent, strengthen the work style construction of the counselor team, and enhance their ability to perform educational duties, on January 7, 2026, the College of Marine Science and Engineering organized all counselors to conduct a concentrated study on work style. Dong Chaoqun, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the college, presided over the meeting and led the study of relevant documents.
At the meeting, Deputy Secretary Dong Chaoqun led all the counselors to systematically study three important documents: the "Regulations on Campus Road Traffic Safety Management of Shanghai Maritime University", the "List of Observation Points for Precursors of Teacher Ethics Violations", and the "Regulations on Ideological and Political Work of the Communist Party of China". He emphasized that as the guides for students' growth and success, counselors should not only strictly adhere to the bottom line of discipline, integrating campus regulations such as traffic safety management into daily education and guidance, but also strengthen the defense line of professional ethics, conducting regular self-examination and self-correction in accordance with the list of observation points. Moreover, they should take the "Regulations" as the fundamental guideline and incorporate ideological and political work throughout the entire process of nurturing students.
During the learning process, all the counselors exchanged their experiences based on the actual work on the front line. Everyone agreed that this learning session is not only a theoretical armament but also a practical guide, which will help further standardize work processes, clarify the boundaries of responsibilities, and enhance service quality and efficiency. When summarizing, Dong Chaoqun demanded that all counselors should transform their learning achievements into practical work results, and with a more pragmatic style and more powerful measures, do a good job in guiding students' thoughts, daily management and growth services.
This special study session is an important measure taken by the college to strengthen the construction of the counselor team, laying a solid foundation for building a high-quality professional chemical engineering team. Next, the college will continue to improve the regular learning mechanism, promote the dual enhancement of the working style and educational ability of counselors, and provide a solid guarantee for cultivating new era talents capable of shouldering the responsibility of building a maritime power.
