Recently, in the final presentation event of the 6th Shanghai University Young Teachers' Training and Support Program, Teacher Zhang Wenbing from the College of Marine Science and Engineering won the second prize in the Natural Science Group 2 (Engineering category).
The school and the college attach great importance to this exhibition activity. Before the competition, they actively organized the selection process and assisted the participating teachers in repeatedly refining their teaching designs and optimizing their teaching presentations through methods such as simulated demonstrations and expert guidance. Teacher Zhang Wenbing stood out among 113 participating teachers from 40 universities in the city with his solid teaching foundation and distinctive ideological and political course design, fully demonstrating the excellent teaching quality and educational ability of the young teachers in the college.
This award is an important manifestation of the college's continuous efforts to cultivate young teachers and deepen teaching reform. Taking this as an opportunity, the college will further carry out organized teaching research around the pilot departments for the comprehensive reform of the mechanism of fostering virtue and nurturing talent in Shanghai, continuously improve the quality of teaching and the effectiveness of education, and contribute to the cultivation of high-quality professional talents and the construction of a maritime power.
The 6th Shanghai University Young Teachers' Training and Support Program Completion Exhibition in 2025 is jointly organized by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and the Shanghai Education Development Foundation. It aims to build an exchange platform for ideological and political education in courses, promote the sharing of high-quality teaching resources, and facilitate the implementation of ideological and political education reform in courses. After going through the stages of school recommendation, expert review, on-site display and final approval by the organizing committee, multiple awards including the Grand Prize, First Prize and Second Prize were finally selected.
The course "Reinforced Concrete Structures for Hydraulic Engineering" taught by Teacher Zhang Wenbing is a core compulsory course for the major of Port, Waterway and Coastal Engineering. This course closely revolves around the school's educational characteristics of "shipping and ocean", adopting a teaching model that combines theoretical derivation with engineering examples and supplements virtual simulation with on-site practice. It focuses on guiding students to understand the connection between engineering safety and industry development. While imparting professional knowledge, it also strives to cultivate students' engineering practice ability, innovative thinking and professional responsibility. It has achieved a deep integration of value guidance and ability cultivation.
