To fully leverage the exemplary role of outstanding students, enhance students' awareness of career planning, and effectively carry out safety education before the winter vacation, on the evening of January 3, 2026, the evening roll call activity for the 2024 undergraduate students of the College of Marine Science and Engineering was successfully held.
The event first focused on career development guidance, and specially invited Luo Ruilai, a student from Class 231 of Safety, to give a special presentation on the National College Students' Career Planning Competition. In this year's competition, Luo Ruilai, the only student from our school to make it to the finals, stood out in the fierce competition with outstanding students from various universities in Shanghai and ultimately won the bronze award in the municipal competition. During the sharing session, Luo Ruilai, drawing on his own competition experience, systematically explained aspects such as setting career goals, organizing planning logic, preparing materials, and on-site presentations. He encouraged the students to think about their career directions as early as possible and constantly refine themselves and enhance their abilities through practice and competitions. The students on the spot responded enthusiastically and all expressed that they had gained a lot.
Subsequently, the counselors carried out a special education on winter vacation safety, covering aspects such as dormitory safety, travel safety, safety while staying on campus, prevention of telecom fraud, and healthy living. Through case studies and key point summaries, it is particularly important to remind students to cut off power and risk before leaving school and to properly store their belongings. When traveling, choose regular channels and abide by traffic rules. During the period of staying on campus, strictly abide by the school rules and regulations and report your travel itinerary in a timely manner. Be vigilant against common telecom fraud schemes such as order stuffing rebates, campus loans, and identity impersonation. At the same time, we advocate a scientific schedule, a balanced diet, and maintaining a good physical and mental state to have a safe, healthy and fulfilling winter vacation.
This activity organically combines career development guidance with safety education. It not only sets up a growth model that students can learn from and emulate, but also further enhances their awareness of safety precautions, ensuring the safety of students during the holiday and their long-term development.
