To enhance care and assistance for students facing academic difficulties, the College of Marine Science and Engineering has recently launched the "Juhai · Xueban" academic assistance program. This program focuses on the group of students with academic warnings, integrating the efforts of counselors, parents, and outstanding peers. Through a combination of precise identification, paired learning companionship, professional guidance, and psychological support, it aims to help students overcome learning difficulties, rebuild learning confidence, and improve academic performance.
Since the implementation of the plan, the college has continuously paid attention to the psychological state of students. Through daily communication and special counseling, it has gained a deep understanding of the underlying reasons for students' academic difficulties. At the same time, academic assistance groups will be established through online platforms to foster a learning atmosphere of mutual help and common progress.
To enhance support for key courses, on December 17th and 19th, the college invited outstanding students of the 2024 grade, Zhou Xinying, li Ming 浠, and Shu honglin, to serve as "study companion little teachers" for the difficult points of the "Probability Theory" course, providing specialized and progressive thematic tutoring. The tutoring content is highly targeted and achieves modular coverage: Zhou Xinying, li Ming xi focus on core foundations such as random variables, Bayes' s formula, and total probability formulas, and conduct in-depth analysis and deduction through typical examples to consolidate students' understanding foundation; Shu Honglin systematically explained advanced contents such as the central limit theorem, moment estimation, and confidence intervals, guiding students to master abstract concepts and complex applications. The two tutorial sessions were conducted in a progressive manner, not only precisely breaking through the key and difficult points of knowledge, but also emphasizing the transmission of mathematical thinking and problem-solving abilities. They effectively advanced from "understanding" to "being able to apply", demonstrating the effectiveness and professionalism of the "Study Companion" program.
The "Juhai · Study Companion" program is one of the important measures taken by the college to implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue and nurturing talent and to build a collaborative education support system. In the future, the college will continue to deepen this plan, expand the subjects and forms of assistance, gather more strength, and help every student grow up healthily and develop comprehensively.
