On December 17, 2025, the student symposium of "Huashi Scholarship" was successfully held in Room 408 of Haike Building. Zhang Hui, the general manager of Huashi (Shanghai) Industrial Co., LTD., Ji Cheng, the department manager of Sinotrans East China Co., LTD., Chao Zhiming, the vice president of the college, Tang Peng, the deputy director of the Port and Shipping Department, and student representatives attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Dong Chaoqun, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the college.
Dong Chaoqun first extended a warm welcome to the guests on behalf of the college and expressed sincere gratitude to Huashi Company for its long-term support for the college's educational cause. He addressed all the award-winning students, saying: "Always be grateful and remember every deep friendship from alumni and society." Ji Xiaoyan, a master's student majoring in Water Conservancy Engineering of the 2024 grade, on behalf of all the award-winning students, expressed deep respect and sincere gratitude to Senior Zhang Hui and Huashi Company. He stated that the scholarship embodies the senior's deep gratitude to his Alma mater and the sincere inheritance of the spirit of the port and shipping. During the interactive communication session, the students present engaged in discussions with Zhang Hui and Ji Cheng on topics such as interview strategies, workplace adaptation and development paths. Two alumni, drawing on their own career experiences and management practices, provided systematic, practical and forward-looking guidance on key elements of interview preparation, the cultivation of soft skills in the workplace, and the dynamic connection between the major and the industry. The atmosphere on the spot was lively.
This symposium was a vivid lesson in gratitude education and career guidance, deepening the school-enterprise collaborative education mechanism and inspiring the majority of students to take outstanding alumni as role models, be down-to-earth and forge ahead with determination, and write a youthful chapter worthy of The Times and their Alma mater in the future.
