To enhance academic guidance and personalized guidance for students, the College of Marine Science and Engineering held the seventh full-time teacher on-duty activity in the one-stop student community of Building 60 on November 26th. Focusing on core issues such as postgraduate recommendation and entrance examination, course correlation, career prospects, and workplace qualities, systematic guidance was provided for students.
During the self-study tutoring activity, Mr. Wu Gongxing from the Ship Department focused on professional identity and competition practice, and carried out an infectious sharing and interaction. Starting from the professional connotation of ship and ocean engineering, he expounded on its significant importance in the national strategy of building a maritime power, which inspired students' sense of professional mission and belonging. Combining authoritative events such as the "China International College Students Innovation Competition" and the "National Marine Vehicle Design and Manufacturing Competition", Teacher Wu, through in-depth analysis of previous award-winning cases, sorted out the key points of competition preparation, innovative ideas and practical operation paths for students. During the subsequent interactive session, he provided personalized and practical suggestions in response to the specific competition questions raised by the students, demonstrating strong guidance pertinence and friendliness. This effectively enhanced the students' confidence and initiative in preparing for the competition.
During the on-duty Q&A session, Teacher Liu Guangzhong from the Ship Department, drawing on his own teaching and research experience, provided systematic and in-depth guidance on learning and development for the students. Regarding the planning for further education, Teacher Liu emphasized "early planning and clear path", suggesting that students recommended for postgraduate studies should conduct research on their target universities and the directions of their supervisors in advance, while those preparing for the postgraduate entrance examination should closely focus on the core of mathematics and professional courses, break through in layers, and review efficiently. In terms of professional studies, he clearly sorted out the logical connections among theoretical physics, structural mechanics and fluid mechanics, pointing out that "theory is the foundation and mechanics is the application", helping students build a knowledge connection system across courses. When it comes to professional ethics, Teacher Liu emphasizes the unity of "being a person" and "learning", encouraging students to cultivate soft skills such as being sincere to others, being humble and pragmatic, and being good at collaboration while laying a solid professional foundation, so as to accumulate energy for long-term development.
This activity achieved "precise drip irrigation" of course Q&A and "systematic empowerment" of competition guidance, which not only alleviated the academic pressure on students but also stimulated the innovation and practical motivation of students majoring in shipbuilding.
