To deepen the effectiveness of professional identity education and precisely coordinate the employment work of graduates, on November 28, 2025, the College of Marine Science and Engineering held a 2025 employment promotion and professional identity education work conference. Wang Weiyi, the Party Secretary of the college, Feng Daolun, the President, Dong Chaoqun, the Deputy Party Secretary, Guo Jiamin, the Vice President, as well as all the department heads, the secretaries of the teaching staff Party branches and all the counselors attended the meeting.
Secretary Wang Weiyi pointed out that employment work is related to the national development strategy and the mission of higher education, and it is an important indicator for measuring the standards of university operation. He emphasized that the entire college must enhance its political stance, strengthen its sense of responsibility, and put forward three requirements in this regard: First, centering on the main line of comprehensive reform in higher education, explore new paths for professional development from multiple dimensions, and continuously enhance the core competitiveness of disciplines; Second, it is necessary to establish the concept of ecological symbiosis among teaching, research and social services, and form a joint force for nurturing talents. Third, optimize the incentive mechanism to stimulate the intrinsic motivation of faculty and staff to participate in employment work, professional identity and discipline construction.
President Feng Daolun pointed out from the perspective of the overall situation of talent cultivation that the quality of employment is the core indicator for measuring the health of the talent cultivation system. The college should be guided by systems thinking, integrate value guidance into courses and scientific research practices, achieve the organic synergy of professional teaching, innovation competitions and ideological and political education, and comprehensively enhance students' comprehensive competitiveness.
Vice Secretary Dong Chaoqun made a special report on the progress of the implementation of professional identity education in the college, the employment dynamics of the 2026 graduates and the existing problems, and clearly defined the key tasks for the next stage, emphasizing the working policy of problem-oriented and result-oriented.
At the meeting, Director Lei Yanhua from the Materials Department and Director Xiong Zhixin from the Shipbuilding Department respectively shared their experiences in the integration of industry and education and professional identity education. Next, the college will take this meeting as an opportunity to further strengthen the educational concept of "student development-centered", continuously improve the professional identity guidance mechanism and employment support system, and empower graduates to achieve high-level and sustainable development.
