On the afternoon of November 26th, the trainees of the 2025 "Young Marxist Project" and the New Youth Red Study Tour Camp of the College of Marine Science and Engineering went to the school nursery to carry out a practical activity that deeply integrated labor education with red study Tours. At the nursery site, the students of the Young Marxist Training Class were divided into several groups. Under the guidance of the responsible students, they carried out a series of labor tasks in an orderly manner, including pruning seedlings, improving soil, and removing weeds. The trainees waved their labor tools with their own hands, experienced farming culture and felt the value and significance of labor.
At the beginning of the event, Sun Hao, the deputy secretary of the Youth League Committee of the college, introduced the purpose and significance of this labor education. He pointed out that the labor in the nursery is not only about learning skills, but also a vivid ideological and political education class. Through personal experience of agricultural work, the trainees can better understand the profound connotation of "labor is the most glorious, the most noble, the most great and the most beautiful". In practice, the trainees learned the basic knowledge of seedling growth, mastered pruning techniques and soil improvement methods. Each trainee was actively engaged and worked in collaboration, demonstrating the fine spiritual outlook of the trainees of the Youth Marxist Cultivation Project. Touching the soil with my own hands and feeling the sweat of labor have given me a more genuine understanding of the value of labor. A participant from the Young Marxist Training Class said so.
This nursery labor education activity particularly incorporated elements of red study Tours. During the event, the trainees also engaged in thematic discussions centered on the red spirit, sharing their understanding and insights on the combination of the spirit of labor and the spirit of the ocean. The event organizer said, "Combining red study Tours with labor education is to hope that the participants can draw strength from the land, consolidate the foundation of their faith, and thereby better serve the country's strategy of building a maritime power."
In recent years, the College of Marine Science and Engineering has continuously innovated the forms of labor education and incorporated labor education into the entire process of talent cultivation. From the online labor education activity "Capturing the Labor Moments in the 'New Year Flavor'" held at the beginning of this year to this on-site labor at the nursery, the college has always emphasized allowing students to experience the value of labor in practice and cultivate the spirit of hard work and perseverance. This nursery labor education activity is an important part of the training system of the Young Marxist Training Class. According to the training plan, the trainees of the Young Marxist Training Class have completed the assessment of multiple links such as theoretical study, field study, social practice and volunteer service, and are about to successfully graduate in the end. The college stated that in the future, it will continue to expand the labor education practice bases, enrich the forms of labor education, and build a labor education system with Marine characteristics, providing a solid platform for cultivating well-rounded young people of the new era in terms of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor.
Through this nursery labor education activity, the students of the Young Marxist Training Class not only learned practical labor skills, but more importantly, they experienced the sense of achievement in creating value in the process of labor, and enhanced their sense of teamwork and social responsibility. In the future, the College of Marine Science and Engineering will continue to deepen the model of integrating labor education with ideological and political education, and explore more effective paths for cultivating qualified builders and reliable successors of the new era.
