On the afternoon of November 26th, the Party Committee of the College of Marine Science and Engineering held a Party member meeting in the lecture hall of Taishan Research Building to conduct the election of Party Committee members. Duan Jinlong, the head of the Comprehensive Cadre Section of the Organization Department of the School's Party Committee, attended the meeting as an observer. Wang Weiyi, the Party Secretary of the college, presided over the meeting, and all the official Party members of the college attended.
At 1 p.m., the conference officially opened with the resounding national anthem. All the Party members present stood up and sang the national anthem together. The atmosphere on the spot was serious and solemn.
First, Secretary Wang Weiyi reported to the congress that the number of Party members who should attend the meeting met the relevant regulations of the Party Constitution and the election work of grassroots Party organizations, and the congress could be held. Subsequently, the "Ten Prohibitions" Discipline Requirements were read out, emphasizing the political and organizational discipline of the election work to ensure a clean and upright election atmosphere. The congress successively deliberated and voted to pass the "Election Rules of the Party Member Congress of the Party Committee of the College of Marine Science and Engineering, Shanghai Maritime University", the list of candidates for committee members and the list of scrutineers, and announced the list of counters. Under the full supervision of the scrutineers, all the attending Party members, with a high sense of responsibility towards the Party organization, strictly followed the election rules and procedures, and solemnly cast their votes through secret ballot and preferential election. Two members of the Party Committee of the college were elected through anonymous voting by the attending Party members on the spot. Warm applause broke out in the venue, congratulating the newly elected committee members. Finally, the conference came to a successful conclusion amid the rousing strains of the "Internationale".
The election of members of the Party Committee this time was well-organized, followed standardized procedures and proceeded smoothly. It fully demonstrated intra-Party democracy and provided a solid organizational guarantee for strengthening the political and organizational functions of the Party organization and consolidating the foundation of Party building leading the development of the college.
