To continuously deepen the connotation of life education and innovate the form of psychological education, on November 21st, the College of Marine Science and Engineering led over twenty representatives of the Youth League School students to Shanghai Fushouyuan Haigang Cemetery to carry out the second phase of the "Long River of Life · Restarting Life" immersive real-scene murder mystery game and psychological theme education activity. The event, with an original real-scene murder mystery game as its medium, guided young students to complete a deep exploration of life, choice and value in a special humanistic field.
In line with the previous event, this experience still revolves around the main thread of "emotion collection - Life restart - Insight accumulation". Zhou Yonghao, assistant general manager of Fushouyuan Haigang Cemetery, introduced the humanistic concept of the cemetery and the background of this event to the teachers and students. Subsequently, the trainees broke the ice and were divided into groups. They set off from the "Three Lives Stone", which symbolizes the starting point of the cycle of rebirth, holding the task map, and headed for the various carefully designed theme scenes within the cemetery. Unlike the traditional educational model, the trainees are no longer passive listeners but direct participants in the story. By cracking tasks closely related to life issues, they proactively collect fragments of emotions such as joy, anger, sorrow and fear, and piece together their understanding of the various aspects of life. In front of the "Three Lives Stone", the trainees drank the specially prepared "Meng Po Soup" based on the proportion of emotions they had collected, obtaining the opportunity to "restart". They personally experienced the consequences of making choices and the possibility of starting anew, deeply realizing that "there is no standard answer in life, but every choice is of great significance."
Walking through the serene and solemn park, history and reality converge underfoot, and the script tasks and the real environment produce a wonderful "chemical reaction". At the final review and sharing session, the trainees were filled with countless emotions. Some students said, "Each 'restart' has made me realize that it's better to cherish the present and bravely take responsibility for my own choices than to regret the past." Another student shared, "In such a quiet environment, having a dialogue with our predecessors and ourselves has made me realize more clearly that the width of life is far more important than its length."
This event is a deepening and continuation of the joint construction of the life education practice base by the college and Fushouyuan Haigang Cemetery. Practice has once again proved that integrating mental health education into immersive and experiential live-action scripts can effectively break down the barriers of preaching, directly touch students' hearts, and guide them to "learn" while "playing" and "understand" while "experiencing". In the future, the college will continue to expand such cooperation in more diverse and innovative forms, injecting positive psychological energy into the healthy growth of young students, and allowing the seeds of respecting life and seizing the present to thrive in their hearts.
