To further promote the professionalization of the counselor team and precisely address the growth challenges faced by postgraduate students in academic adaptation, career planning, and psychological adjustment, the College of Marine Science and Engineering recently held a business study session titled "From 'Management' to 'Guidance' - Role Positioning and Core Competence Reconstruction of Postgraduate Counselors", led by Teacher Xu Jie.

Teacher Xu Jie shared practical strategies for postgraduate work based on real cases. In response to the difficulty faced by interdisciplinary postgraduate students in academic adaptation, she proposed the "Three-dimensional Empowerment" breakthrough method: building an academic bridge through the connection of interdisciplinary resources, providing precise assistance relying on the "mentorship community" mechanism, and customizing a personalized research growth ladder for them. Regarding the common anxiety among students about the imbalance between employment and research, she introduced effective practices such as conducting cognitive calibration through in-depth interpretation of industry trends and an alumni development case library, and integrating school and enterprise resources to offer career connection courses. In response to the psychological confusion caused by academic pressure, Teacher Xu has established a psychological support closed loop of "assessment - tracking - intervention".

In his summary, Dong Chaoqun, the deputy secretary of the Party committee, emphasized that counselors should focus on cultivating the four core capabilities of "value guidance, academic support, psychological counseling, and resource integration", and continuously build a four-dimensional collaborative education platform of "mentors - counselors - industry experts - parents", so that the education work not only possesses the professional degree of "precise navigation" that guides according to the situation, but also is rich in the warmth of "growth companionship" that nourishes things silently. Thus truly helping students achieve the unity of academic pursuit and career development.

This business study closely focused on the pain points of counselors' work and the growth needs of students. Through case analysis, strategy sharing and experience exchange, it further clarified the role positioning and practical path of postgraduate counselors in the new era, injecting new impetus into the college's efforts to build a high-quality counselor team that "understands academia, is good at guidance and has warmth".
