To guide students in scientifically planning their career directions and enhance their awareness of campus safety, on the evening of November 9, 2025, the 2024 undergraduate students' theme education evening roll call activity of the College of Marine Science and Engineering was successfully held. The evening roll call activity was hosted by Teacher Zhu Diyao, and Teacher Lei Mengyu, the employment director of the college, was specially invited to give a special sharing.
At the beginning of the event, Teacher Lei, with the theme of "From Freshman to Senior Year: Your Career 'Opening Report' Progress Schedule - How to Fill It Out Without Panic", combined the data and trends of the college's graduates in postgraduate entrance examination, civil service examination and enterprise employment over the years, and deeply analyzed the career development paths of different professional directions. He emphasized that although there is no fixed "opening template" for career planning, every student should find the answer to "what I want to do and what I can do" in self-awareness and continuously solidify the path of "what I should do" through practical accumulation. Teacher Lei suggests that the second year of college is a crucial period for career accumulation. Students should proactively consolidate their theoretical foundation, build a knowledge system, enhance their job skills in a targeted manner, obtain necessary certificates, and verify their direction and accumulate experience through internships and practical training, laying a solid foundation for their future careers.
Subsequently, Teacher Zhu gave a reminder on the theme of dormitory safety, elaborating in detail from multiple aspects such as the use of illegal electrical appliances, fire safety, theft prevention and fraud prevention. Combining real cases, she emphasized the importance and urgency of dormitory safety, reminding students to strictly abide by dormitory management regulations, not to use open flames, not to privately pull wires, and not to store prohibited items, so as to jointly create a safe, clean and civilized learning and living environment.
This theme education activity organically combines "career planning" with "safety education", not only lighting the lamp of career development direction for students, but also strengthening the protective wall of campus safety. The college will continue to promote the regular implementation of career guidance and safety education, helping students to "plan for the future" while "holding the bottom line", and with clearer goals and more resolute actions, write a new chapter of progress for the young students of the new era.
