Evening Roll Call for the Class of 2025 of the College of Marine Science and Engineering: Strengthening the Foundation of Academic Atmosphere and Drawing the Blueprint for Career Development

On the evening of November 9th, the 2025 grade of the College of Marine Science and Engineering held a evening roll call activity with the theme of "Academic Atmosphere Construction and Career Planning". This event was hosted by counselor Peng Yujie, focusing on the issues of academic adaptation and career development that freshmen are generally concerned about. It aims to guide students to consolidate the foundation of academic atmosphere and clarify their development direction, so as to move steadily and far in the new journey of university.

During the academic atmosphere construction session, Teacher Peng Yujie pointed out that a good academic atmosphere is the "first cornerstone" for career development. Combining the practical characteristics of Marine science and engineering majors, she systematically explained the course structure and academic requirements, shared efficient learning methods, and encouraged students to develop good habits of previewing before class, concentrating in class, and reviewing after class, so as to support professional growth with a solid academic atmosphere and build a solid foundation for development through diligent study and earnest practice.

During the career planning session, the specially invited guest, Teacher Lei Mengyu, based on the development trends of the Marine industry and the achievements of talent cultivation in the college, comprehensively sorted out the diverse development paths such as further education, employment in the field, and innovation and entrepreneurship. He also vividly expounded on the intrinsic connection between academic atmosphere construction and professional competitiveness by combining typical cases of outstanding alumni. Guide students to break down their long-term goals into phased tasks for the four years of university, ensuring clear objectives, definite paths and solid steps.

This evening roll call event focuses on both the all-round growth of students and their interest-driven development.
