To further assist the students of the 2023 graduating class of the College of Marine Science and Engineering in making career plans and establishing correct views on career selection and further education. All the students of the 2023 grade of the college held the third session of the Career Launch series of activities in Bangjian Lecture Hall. This event invited Liu Zhouluan, a student from the 2022 grade of the Ship and Ocean Engineering major in our college who has been recommended for postgraduate studies at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, to give a special presentation. All the students of the 2023 grade attended the event, which was hosted by the counselor Gao Rui.
During the sharing session, Liu Zhouluan, based on his own college experience, elaborated from three aspects: academic challenges, time planning, and social practice. He mentioned that the third year of college is a crucial period for academic and career planning. One should not only delve deeply into the professional knowledge of ship and ocean engineering, laying a solid foundation through methods such as concentrating in class and reviewing after class, but also take the initiative to step out of the campus. He has participated in activities such as the "Thousand Enterprises and Hundred Ports" summer social practice and the university ship field science and technology innovation competition, enhancing communication and problem-solving skills through teamwork These experiences not only enriched the resume but also became bonus points in the assessment for postgraduate recommendation. At the same time, he encouraged his younger schoolmates to set clear goals, maintain composure, balance the relationship between study and practice, and comprehensively cultivate students' overall qualities.
During the interactive session, students actively raised questions such as "the timeline for preparing for postgraduate recommendation" and "how to choose suitable practical projects related to ships and Marine engineering". Liu Zhouluan answered each question in detail, creating a lively atmosphere on the spot. At the end of the event, Gao Rui concluded by pointing out that this sharing session had provided a high-quality platform for experience exchange among junior students. He hoped that the students would clarify their career directions as soon as possible and accumulate strength for their future development.
This activity not only deepened the understanding of the 2023 grade students regarding academic and career planning, but also ignited their enthusiasm for striving, laying a solid foundation for the continuous advancement of the college's career guidance work.
