On November 12th, the College of Marine Science and Engineering successfully held the fifth meeting of the first dual congress, with all faculty and staff representatives in attendance. This meeting was presided over by Liu Boyang, the chairperson of the college's trade union. The core topic was the performance evaluation of the college's leadership team and members. The aim was to further improve the internal management and supervision mechanism of the college, gather development synergy, and promote the high-quality development of all the college's undertakings.

At the meeting, Wang Weiyi, the Party Secretary of the college, delivered a report on behalf of the college's leadership team. He systematically summarized the phased achievements made in the overall development of the college, deeply analyzed the new situation and new tasks currently faced as well as the prominent problems existing in the leadership team, and combined the goals of formulating the "15th Five-Year Plan", the comprehensive reform of "one school, one policy", and the pilot departments for the comprehensive reform of the mechanism for fostering virtue and nurturing talent. An overall vision for the work in 2026 was put forward.

Wang Weiyi, the Party Secretary of the college, Feng Daolun, the Deputy Party Secretary and President, Dong Chaoqun, the Deputy Party Secretary, and Guo Jiamin and Chao Zhiming (Guo Jiamin acting), the Vice Presidents, successively delivered their work reports. All the leaders, in light of their job responsibilities and areas of responsibility, comprehensively reviewed the work achievements and specific measures in aspects such as Party building leadership, faculty team building, discipline connotative development, scientific research innovation breakthroughs, teaching quality improvement, student growth and success, and the performance of discipline inspection and supervision duties. They also directly faced the challenges existing in the current work and clarified the direction for improvement and development plans for the next step.

During the meeting, all the teacher representatives, with a highly responsible attitude, conducted a democratic evaluation of the work performance of the college's leadership team and its members, and put forward constructive suggestions and opinions. In addition, the meeting also successfully completed the relevant work for the supplementary election of trade union committee members.
