To assist the 2023 grade students of the College of Marine Science and Engineering in planning their career paths in advance and clarifying their development directions, on November 9th, the college held the second lecture of the Career Departure series guidance activities - sharing of postgraduate entrance examination experience - in Bangjian Lecture Hall. This sharing session was presented by Wang Zhiqi, a representative of postgraduate students from the college. It covered aspects such as the motivation for taking the postgraduate entrance examination, school selection strategies, review rhythms, and methods to improve scores in individual subjects, providing systematic and practical guidance for students who are interested in taking the postgraduate entrance examination.
Wang Zhiqi started from the question of "Why set out", guiding the students to rationally assess their own learning combat effectiveness, economic conditions and psychological preparation, clarify their motivation for the postgraduate entrance examination, and avoid blindly following the trend. She elaborated on how to identify cost-effective universities that are within reach through three major channels: the Graduate Admissions website, the official websites of universities, and peer sharing. Then, centering on the "annual review rhythm", a detailed review of the complete timeline from the first semester of the junior year to the first year of postgraduate study was provided, emphasizing that the review of subjects such as mathematics and English should be initiated as early as possible, and a solid foundation is the key to achieving high scores. Finally, Wang Zhiqi reminded the students with a "Pitfall Avoidance Guide" to avoid common pitfalls such as "false effort", comparing progress, neglecting the re-examination, and overworking health. She also encouraged everyone: "Every time you memorize words, every math problem, and every page of notes, you are paving the way for your ultimate success." You are stronger than you think!
The content of this sharing session was detailed and the atmosphere was lively. It pointed out the direction for students who were confused and anxious and strengthened their confidence. The series of lectures on career planning guidance will continue to be launched to help students move forward steadily on their life paths.
