To effectively address students' concerns regarding academic development and mental health, and to build an efficient bridge for communication between teachers and students, the College of Marine Science and Engineering recently successfully held a special symposium in the one-stop student community. This event was hosted by counselor Lei Mengyu, with part-time counselor Zhu Wenwu serving as the main speaker. Some student representatives from the college participated in the on-site exchange.
At the symposium, Teacher Zhu Wenwu shared his insights on the core topics of academic guidance based on his own teaching experience and the growth patterns of students. He provided practical learning paths for students through specific case analyses and the imparting of practical skills, addressing issues of common concern to them such as the learning methods of professional courses, the formulation of academic plans, and the cultivation of research interests. Teacher Zhu emphasized that academic growth during the university stage requires "goal orientation + continuous deepening", encouraging students to actively connect with professional resources, reasonably balance course study and practical exploration, and seek help from teachers and classmates in a timely manner when encountering difficulties.
During the mental health care session, Teacher Zhu Wenwu focused on common sources of psychological stress among contemporary college students, such as academic anxiety, adaptation to interpersonal relationships, and confusion about future development, and had a sincere and in-depth interactive exchange with the students. He guided the students to view psychological pressure correctly, shared practical methods for emotional regulation, and reminded everyone to pay attention to their own psychological state, learn self-care and seek help actively. The college and counselors will always be the strong support for the students. The students on the spot actively raised questions and communicated with the two teachers about the specific problems they encountered in the process of academic advancement and psychological adjustment. The atmosphere was warm and harmonious.
Teacher Lei Mengyu stated in his summary that the one-stop student community symposium is an important measure to implement the concept of "all-round education". In the future, they will continue to focus on the growth needs of students, regularly carry out various theme exchange activities, and provide more precise and considerate guidance and services for students. The holding of this symposium not only answered the students' academic and psychological confusions, but also brought the teachers and students closer together, laying a solid foundation for creating a positive, upward, mutually supportive and friendly campus atmosphere.
