This meeting was presided over by counselor Gao Rui. The theme of this session of the Youth League School is "Strive in the New Era and Be a New Youth". All the newly appointed Youth League branch secretaries and active applicants for League membership of the college participated in the study.
At the opening ceremony, Teacher Dong Chaoqun, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the college, delivered the opening speech. Teacher Dong first, on behalf of the Party Committee of the college, extended warm congratulations and sincere greetings to all the trainees participating in the study at the Youth League School. He pointed out that if the younger generation has ideals, abilities and a sense of responsibility, the country will have a bright future and the nation will have hope. In this new era that Bridges the past and the future, the vast number of young students should proactively adapt to the demands of The Times and the motherland, closely link their personal development pursuits with the future and destiny of the country, and implement the college slogan "Manage the Ocean and Strive for strength from the sea" in their actions. Only in this way can they truly achieve something.
Teacher Yan Honggen, a member of the Lecturer Group of the Care for the Next Generation Working Committee, gave the first lesson of the Youth League School to the trainees on the topic of "From the 100-Year Development History of the Communist Youth League to the Direction and Goals of Contemporary Communist Youth League Members' Struggle". Teacher Yan had an in-depth exchange with the students on the century-long journey of the Chinese youth movement under the leadership of the Party, encouraging us young college students to stand firm in the new era and new journey, and to summarize our own goals and directions of progress to one point: ———— unswervingly listen to the party and follow its lead, and strive to grow into new era individuals capable of shouldering the responsibility of national rejuvenation. It is hoped that the vast number of young people will measure the land of the motherland with their feet, discover the Chinese spirit with their eyes, listen to the voices of the people with their ears, and sense the pulse of The Times with their hearts. They should carry through the entire process of their studies and integrate their feelings of the motherland being thicker than water and sharing the same breath and destiny with the people into their career pursuits.
Tian Jiateng, a student from Class 254 of the Ship and Ocean Engineering major, spoke on behalf of the freshmen. He expressed his expectations for the study at the Youth League School based on his own experience. He stated that he would treat every learning opportunity with a serious and rigorous attitude, striving to grow into a new era youth deeply rooted in the sentiment of the country and the family, breathing in unison with the nation and sharing the destiny with the people, and always demonstrating a distinct spirit of patriotism.
The opening ceremony and training activity of this Youth League school is an important measure taken by the College of Marine Science and Engineering to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and strengthen youth work. The activity not only provided valuable learning opportunities for the leaders of the Youth League and student organizations, but also further promoted the in-depth development of ideological and political education in the college. In the future, the college will continue to innovate the forms of ideological and political education, enrich the content of the Youth League School courses, build more platforms for the growth and success of young people, and lead the vast number of students of Haike to write a glorious chapter of youth worthy of The Times on the journey of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
