On the evening of October 26th, the 2025 grade of the College of Marine Science and Engineering held a evening roll call activity with the theme of "Personal Growth and Collective Development". This event was hosted by counselor Peng Yujie, focusing on the issues of academic development and career planning that students are generally concerned about. Three outstanding senior students were specially invited to share their experiences, covering aspects such as GPA improvement, student leadership work, and career exploration, providing practical growth guidance for freshmen.
During the discussion on the relationship between the individual and the collective, Teacher Peng Yujie pointed out that individuals can receive support, learn to collaborate, and clarify responsibilities within a collective, thereby achieving more comprehensive growth. The vitality and progress of a collective cannot be achieved without the active participation and contribution of each member. She emphasized, "The best growth is to realize one's self-worth in the process of achieving collective success." The best collective is one where each member can shine with their unique brilliance. During the experience-sharing session, the senior students, drawing on their own experiences, engaged in exchanges from aspects such as strategies for improving GPA, insights into student work, and exploration of career directions. With vivid cases and simple language, they answered many of the freshmen's confusions in their exploration of academic and career planning.
This evening roll call adopted the peer education approach of "people around us sharing stories around us", effectively building a communication platform for students of different grades. It not only provided practical academic and career guidance for freshmen but also created an educational atmosphere of mutual assistance and common growth, laying a solid foundation for the university journey of the freshmen of 2025.
