On October 25, 2025, the Green Intelligence Navigation · Marine Science Talent Building Forum for Entrepreneurs on Industrial Innovation and Talent Cultivation in the Marine Field ———— was successfully held at Shanghai Maritime University. This forum was hosted by the College of Marine Science and Engineering. Wang Weiyi, the Party Secretary of the college, Feng Daolun, the Deputy Party Secretary and Dean, and many experts from leading enterprises in the industry attended together. It focused on the transformation trends of the Marine industry towards "green and low-carbon" and "intelligent innovation", and jointly discussed the mechanism of collaborative education between the school and enterprises, injecting new impetus into serving the strategy of a maritime power and promoting the implementation of the "dual carbon" goals.
Secretary Wang Weiyi emphasized in his speech that the college will respond to the changes of The Times and answer the questions of the industry. Taking this forum as an opportunity, it will actively build a collaborative mechanism where "enterprises set questions and schools answer them", promoting the deep integration of the education chain, talent chain and innovation chain. In terms of the curriculum system, we will strengthen interdisciplinary integration, add cutting-edge content such as green technology and digital skills, and optimize characteristic directions such as polar engineering and Marine detection. In terms of the education mechanism, we will deepen the integration of industry and education, jointly build practical platforms and research topics with enterprises, and enable students to hone their skills in real scenarios. In terms of scientific research layout, we closely follow industrial demands, focus on key areas such as offshore wind power, green materials, and new energy applications, and promote the precise connection between academic achievements and industrial applications.
President Feng Daolun pointed out in his speech that the Marine industry is currently in a critical period of transformation, with breakthroughs in cutting-edge technologies and the reserve of high-quality talents supporting each other. He stated that the college has been deeply engaged in the field of Marine engineering for many years and has always adhered to the mission of "serving the industry and cultivating talents". This forum is dedicated to promoting the in-depth integration of academic research and industrial practice, and building a new pattern of coordinated progress between talent cultivation in universities and industry development.
During the special topic sharing session, industry experts engaged in in-depth exchanges on industrial innovation and talent demands. Director Li Yexun of China Communications Third Harbor Engineering Bureau pointed out that the offshore wind power sector urgently needs compound talents with interdisciplinary backgrounds and digital skills. General Manager Li Yanxi of Zhejiang Sixiong Rope Industry provided practical suggestions for the connection between universities and enterprises on "new material research and development + practical ability cultivation". General Manager Miao Ning of Sankeshu Industrial Coatings proposed that talents in Marine materials should possess both R&D capabilities and the "green concept throughout the entire life cycle". Director Fan Ke of Shanghai Survey and Design Institute pointed out that floating offshore wind power requires "integrated design + dynamic monitoring" technology, and talent cultivation should strengthen cross-disciplinary integration. President Wang Shuoren of the Polar Major Engineering and Equipment Research Institute shared the technical challenges of polar engineering and provided directions for the construction of polar experiments. General Manager Zhang Xi of Shanghai Yili New Energy introduced the supporting role of sulfide all-solid-state batteries in the "green and intelligent upgrade" of Marine new energy. Vice President Yang Xiaofeng of the British Lloyd's Register put forward the requirement for talents in the shipbuilding field that they "understand international standards and have professional skills". Deputy Director Xie Shaochun of Shanghai Hailong Saineng New Materials pointed out the key value of anti-fouling coatings in carbon reduction in shipping and the demand for talents. General Manager Wang Yuwei of Shanghai Anglu Biotechnology proposed a compound Marine testing talent standard of "automation engineer + testing analyst + data manager".
In the future, the college will further deepen the integration of industry and education, optimize the talent cultivation system, promote the organic connection between the education chain, talent chain and industrial chain, and continuously supply high-quality professional talents for the high-quality development of the Marine industry.
