On the evening of October 30th, a training session for psychological counselors of the College of Marine Science and Engineering was held in Room 109 of the college. The meeting was hosted by counselor Peng Yujie and part-time counselor Fan Xuanyu. Psychological counselors of the freshmen of the 25th grade, both undergraduate and postgraduate, participated and jointly embarked on the growth journey of "guardians of the Soul".
The training session is centered on the core concept of "listening to emotional needs and grasping problem-oriented approaches", and through a three-dimensional system of "job cognition + responsibility fulfillment + practical interaction", it aims to help psychological committee members grow into class psychological guardians with both professional qualities and empathetic abilities. During the training, Teacher Fan focused on interpreting psychological signals that need attention, such as "low mood and social distancing", and guided the recording principles of "simplicity, objectivity and confidentiality" through case studies. She emphasized that listening should "pay attention to emotions, not judge and keep secrets", enabling everyone to understand that "companionship is strength".
Teacher Peng led everyone to carry out group counseling interactive games. The "Squid and Crow" game enhanced the concentration and reaction ability of the committee members. The "Meet Yourself, Meet Others" activity deepened the understanding of "peer support" by writing self-awareness and conveying warm messages.
This training is an innovative practice by the college to strengthen the mental health defense line for students. It not only enhances the ability of mental health committee members to perform their duties but also enables the concept of "guarding the soul and building a warm class together" to take root in the hearts of students. In the future, the college will inject professional strength into the team of mental health committee members through regular training, experience sharing and other means, helping students find their spiritual home at Hainan University and jointly write a new chapter in mental health education!
