To thoroughly implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue and nurturing talent and comprehensively promote the high-quality construction of ideological and political education in courses, on the afternoon of October 22nd, the College of Marine Science and Engineering successfully held a teaching competition on ideological and political education in courses in Room 3C110 of the teaching building. The competition invited Wang Weiyi, the Party Secretary of the college, Feng Daolun, the Deputy Party Secretary and President, and the directors of each department to serve as expert judges. The secretaries of the Party branches of each department and other key teachers observed the competition. The competition was hosted by Guo Jiamin, the Vice President in charge of Teaching.
This competition has a wide range of participation and strong demonstration effect. It not only attracted many young teachers to actively take part, but also had many professors, associate professors and other high-level teachers set an example. It achieved the full participation of everyone from academic leaders to front-line teachers and laboratory teachers, jointly honing teaching skills and enhancing educational capabilities. During the competition, the participating teachers closely adhered to the characteristics of their professional courses, ingeniously explored and organically integrated ideological and political elements, achieving a deep integration of professional knowledge and value guidance. Just like salt water nourishing things silently, they presented a rich and highly inspiring teaching feast.
After a comprehensive review by the judges, Zhao Shan, a teacher from the Port, Waterway and Coastal Engineering major, Sun Yu, a teacher from the Ship and Ocean Engineering major, and Liu Boyang, a teacher from the Materials Science and Engineering major, stood out and were recommended to represent the college in the school's semi-final. The college will continue to uphold the concept of "promoting teaching and cultivation through competitions", incorporate the fundamental task of fostering virtue and nurturing talent throughout the entire process of education and teaching, and constantly enhance the quality and efficiency of ideological and political education in courses.
